Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Our theme this week on the Pebbles blog is "In Stitches." Stitching has become a very popular technique in paper crafting. Whether by hand, sewing machine, or even "faux" stitching with a journaling pen, the detail to a layout, card, or other project is simply wonderful.
Design team member Kristen Swain created a pair of sweet baby themed cards using our Pebbles chalks and stencils in addition to lots of hand stitching. Here's what Kristen had to say ... "I love using chalks and stencils! There is just nothing softer for a sweet baby card. Adding stitches helps to define my chalked shapes, but helps to add another soft element to the card. Don't be afraid to mix and match stencils to create a scene on your project. And adding items like pearls, buttons and brads really makes the card pop!"

Design team member Melinda Spinks created this stunning layout by handstitching a grid design onto her cut out heart. Here's what Melinda had to say ... "I was delighted when Lynn posted our assignments and I was given the theme of stitching as I love to hand-stitch on my projects, there is something almost therapeutic about hand-sowing. I do have a sewing machine somewhere but we've never really been fully acquainted unless out of sheer necessity and the friendship lasts all of five minutes before I pack it away again for another year. I have been saving the gorgeous browns and apricot papers of the Floral Lane collection as I've had an idea rolling around in my head to do a patchwork effect and the stitching theme matched perfectly."

Design team member Kryssi Ng used machine stitching to help add detail to the borders on this sweet layout. Here's what Kryssi had to say ... "Printing the photo, typing up the journaling, and putting this layout together - time spent? Less than an hour! I must say I was rather proud of myself for pulling off this speedy feat. But, I must give credit to the fabulously coordinating-friendly Pebbles collections. A basic design concept of mine is sticking to a limit of 2-3 colors maximum. I apply this basic principle to making cards and scrapbooking for the most part. After I pulled together a few sheets that I felt would work together, it was one of the fastest layouts I've made. And one of my faves because it is so clean and simple."
