How To Tuesday

"I decided to create this little notebook as party favors for my daughter’s 8th birthday. They are quick and easy to make, and I know that her friends will love this special gift made just for them. These would be great for any occasion, baby shower, wedding shower, friend’s birthday.  I hope you will take these instructions to make a notebook of your own. If you do, make sure to link us back to your project, I would love to see your creation."  - Mel Blackburn, Pebbles Design Team Member

To start, trim pattern paper base to desired size, in my case I used a 5" x 11" piece of paper.  Score patterned paper at 4" and 8"intervals.  Trim office supply paper to desired size, I trimmed my paper to 4 1/2" x 7". These are the pages of the notebook. I used 5 sheets of white paper.  Score pages at 3 1/2".

To create the pencil holder, pierce large whole on the top flap, I’ve set mine at 2".  Pierce smaller hole on bottom flap, I used the hole from the top flap to guide where the bottom whole should go.

Now it’s time to place the sheets of your notebook. To do this I used my sewing machine, but you could use staples or hand stitching.

To create the twine loop to thread through the holes created above, I used my pencil as I guide. I measure the size of the pencil, and then I threaded the twine through the holes. This will keep your notebook closed.

Your notebook is done! Now all you have to do is decorate it as needed. In my case I made it extra girly, perfect for 8 year old girls!
