"The sunny, happy colors of Hip Hip Hooray inspired me to make a sun-shaped element on my page and focus on a photo from a fun summer day. The banner stickers, cut apart, easily subbed as sun rays and stitched down, added a little dimension to the page. I layered the letter stickers on top of that. Banner strips cut from the Good Times patterned paper frame my page with some narrow strips of Celebration. The confetti is made from the negative shapes of the die cut tag and some Sequin Candy Dots. "Last year, my twin girls received a turtle sandbox for their 2nd birthday. It was a gift that they absolutely loved so I knew that I wanted to create a layout only about it. I love the bright, happy, fun colors in Hip Hip Hooray and selected several patterns to make a grid design. I also punched starbursts out of the same patterned paper to create a tone-on-tone effect. "I love the greens, pinks and kraft of the Country Picnic line.  But, I wanted to make the color pop out a little; so I chose a grey background for this easy to assemble layout.  I took these adorable photos of my friend and her daughter last year.  The colors of this line translate well into a baby girl theme, as well as spring.  I really like the new gift tags.  So fun!  I un-tied the string on the tag to take the loop out and re-tied it into a bow to make it more layout ready vs. gift ready.  I layered a candy dot button on top of the design and a flower from the dimensional stickers."  - Mandie Pierce, Pebbles Design Team Member

"If there is one thing I love to do it's mix patterns. On this page I managed to mix 7 of them. I used a variety of prints from Fresh Goods to fill the space behind letters I die cut out of the background with my Silhouette. To complete the sentiment, I wrote the word "forward" in a script font, welded it then cut it from another Fresh Goods pattern. "The sun is shining, and the days are getting longer! I am so ready for Spring, and the arrival of Easter. I do love creating fresh and new home decor projects. I decided to create a fresh spring frame welcoming the arrival of Easter. Here I took an open frame, and inside placed a white canvas. I love this combination, and will be trying this again soon. I decided to leave the canvas white and with a few patterns of paper from various collections, I have an Easter memory to cherish. I created an egg banner by simply sewing eggs die cut out of various papers with the sewing machine. This is so easy to do, and hung it from the top of the frame.  Using the new corrugated letters from Pebbles, and two egg die cuts, I created a whimsical title at the bottom. "When I think of Spring, the first that comes to mind is the sunshine, the blooming flowers, growing grass and all the little critters that come to life. Those things were my inspiration for these cards. A bouquet of blooming flowers was the main inspiration for the Welcome Home card. The butterflies fluttering by where my focus for the Happy Day card. A splash of yellow to each card added warmth and brightness, just like the sunshine would. Theme: Spring

We'll be celebrating the arrival of Spring all this week on the Pebbles blog with spring themed projects from some of our design team members.

"We don't have a lot of spring decor in our house so I thought the Floral Lane line would be perfect for a spring project.  I chose 4 different papers and did some paper weaving as a base.  I had bought a frame from Michaels for just a dollar and simply traced around the oval frame and cut my paper weaving to match that.  I stitched just a bit to hold it all together even better.  My favorite Pebbles Silhouette shape is that banner and knew I wanted to use it for this too!  I cut some brown cardstock and layered more Pebbles paper behind that for part of my title.  Some pretty flower, ribbon and butterfly accents and it's ready to hang up!"  - Christa Paustenbaugh, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I had a really fun time making up these spring cards, I especially love mixing our soft patterned paper with touches of kraft. Free For All Friday

Happy Friday everyone! We are wrapping up the week with a "free for all" project from our design team.

"I think my favorite two collections to mix and match are Fresh Goods and With Love.  The kraft bases in both lines work so well together – and the reds match perfectly too!  I am also really loving the little scalloped envelopes – they are perfect for adding hidden journaling to a layout.  I ran the envelope and tag through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder adding just the right amount of subtle extra texture to these kraft products."  - Wendy Sue Anderson, Pebbles Design Team Member

"For this week's Free For All project , I decided to create some cute bon bon treat boxes to put in some Hershey's kisses and give them away when I visit someone . I so love Pebbles cardstock quality patterned papers which offer wide possibilities in our papercrafting. Simply cutting a piece of 12x12 patterned paper to the right size (10"x8") and using a scoring board to put the score lines in the right places, a little bit of cutting away of the appropriate parts of the paper and I have these treat boxes ready to decorate and go."  - Pearl Liu, Pebbles Design Team Member

Sketchy Thursday

For today's edition of "Sketchy Thursday" I asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this fabulous sketch by Becky Fleck.

“I love the freedom of working with a sketch and the fact that there are no rules to it. You can pick the elements you love and make it work for you, like I did here in my layout about how silly my sister and I are together. I rotated the strip of patterned paper so it was vertical instead of horizontal and added a border strip at the bottom. I also changed the title a little bit and added some extra clusters of embellishments. I like the fact that you can still see the main elements of the sketch on my layout and yet have put my own stamp on it.”  - Stephanie Baxter, Pebbles Design Team Member

"For this week's Whip It Up Wednesday, I focused on a set of cards for various occasions that I could give as a gift set, created in under thirty minutes. I used the Floral Lane dimensional stickers as my sentiments and kept the general layout of each card the same, making only minor changes to each to break them up just a bit. And, if you have an extra ten minutes, you can create the gift bag as well! I used a die to trace the window on the front of the paper bag, backed it with clear acetate and framed it with the die cut. Then I added the simple tag and ribbon and voila! An easy gift with a spring-time feel, perfect for a little pick-me-up!"  - Ashley Stephens, Pebbles Design Team Member
