How To Tuesday

 

"Today I want to share an easy wedding present that won't break the bank, but is classy and cute all rolled into one!  We are going to take a wooden tray and create a cute wall hanging!"  - Elizabeth Carney, Pebbles Design Team Member

First, you will need to spray paint the wooden tray to the desired color.

After the spray paint is dry, begin decorating. I adhered the Pebbles flowers and other flowers using a hot glue gun.

Cut papers to desired length. I cut the black piece that is my backing into a 5x8 piece. I also cut the other strips into 2.5x8 and 1.5x8 size. Adhere those onto wooden tray. Add ribbon using hot glue.

After your papers are adhered, add the upper flowers to wooden tray.

Once all embellishments are adhered, add the lettering (you can add whatever saying you'd like).

"I love mixing various Pebbles line, so I was excited to be working on this assignment. For this layout I used  5 different lines, I  love the soft effect they produced together.  When I mix pattern paper I look for patterns and colors that compliment each other and I often add a touch of yellow, which I find ties all the color together. "I love fresh flowers but it's hard to find them during the winter so I decided to create a small bouquet of paper flowers. I used the Country Picnic collection because I love the shades of pink and green. To embellish the centers I used candy dots, super easy because they have adhesive on the back! The steams are made with straws covered with floral tape. Use a ribbon or a vase to hold them and bring the spring into your house!"  - Eva Pizarro, Pebbles Design Team Member

"My stylized flowers were inspired by the embellishments on a pair of shoes I own. I knew the fresh, springy colors of the Country Picnic & Hip Hip Hooray lines would lend themselves well to this interpretation of them. To make them I simply punched circles in a variety of sizes and patterns, scored them down the center and stacked them. I used them in sets of three to make a flower and finished them off with a wood button. The white background and red twine complement the bright, fresh color of the two lines."  - Valerie Mangan, Pebbles Design Team Member

"I love to use flowers on layouts!  (on anything really!)  I made this layout of my friend's adorable little girl mixing patterns from Fresh Goods, Hip Hip Hooray and With Love, along with one of my other favorite things ... buttons!  I also used some of the new crystal candy dots as centers for the flowers.  They are super cute.   I cut out the flowers using my die cut machine and then just layered them on.  You could easily use punches or hand cut flowers to achieve the same look!"  - Mandie Pierce, Pebbles Design Team Member

Describe yourself in 3 words ... crazy, creative, multi-tasker.

My guilty pleasure is … buying way too much scrapbooking products; especially the items that I don’t really need but you never know right? There might be that one layout or project that it would be perfect for.

You’ll never find me without … my sketchbook.  Whenever I have the chance, I’m always jotting down ideas or sketching my next layout/project.

You might be surprised to know that I … need to do something scrapping related every night for at least 15mins, otherwise I just lay tossing around in bed.  Guess you could say, it’s my way of winding down after a long day at the office.

My least favorite chore is … that’s easy, it’s cleaning up my scrapbooking area after a long weekend of scrapping (at times, you can find me creating on the floor – there just enough room; although I think it’s because I have a small table). LOL

I started scrapbooking in… I’ve always been a crafty person, but it was in 2008, when I relocated to Singapore for work that I walked into my first scrapbook store.  Needless to say, ever since then I’ve been addicted to this hobby.
 
My favorite thing about this hobby is … the creation process itself.  I love playing with all the gorgeous papers and the amazing array of embellishments that are available.  Just the idea of mixing and matching and seeing how everything all comes together… always brightens my day/mood.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be … the clear alphabet stickers (absolutely love them and the fun effect when you overlap the letters).

"One of things that I really like about Pebble collections are the mix of kraft papers and products and the Country Picnic collection is no exception. Absolutely adore the sweet colors and how everything works perfectly with the kraft pattern papers (although couldn’t resist adding in a pop of yellow from the Hip Hip Hooray collection)."

"I had a ball of the time making this layout and took my inspiration from one of the embellishment in the Hip Hip Hooray collection – the dimensional stitched circles.  From there, I added on more layering and dimensional details to the embellishments before using those circle embellishments as the focal design of my layout."

"I’m currently in one of those mini album mode (can’t stop making them) and for this one, I stitched the various pattern papers together to create my little mini. For some added fun, I made sure that all the pages with different lengths to add some variation to the mini album and also show off the various pattern papers used."

How To Tuesday

 

"I have always loved playing with paper. I specifically enjoy making my own embellishments. I decided that today I would shared one of the versions of flowers I know how to make."  - Sarah Webb, Pebbles Design Team Member

To start, cut a strip of paper 6"x1" and fold it in half.

Next, cut into the paper on the diagonal, leaving the bottom 1/8" intact.

Wind the strip around something narrow such as a paper piercer.  You may find you want to add glue dots along the way to prevent the flower from unwinding.

Adhere the end onto the base of the flower with a glue dot and spread the petals.

And finally add the flower to your project.
